On The Hill is a community interest company located in the beautiful Teign Valley in South Devon. We provide land based and experiential learning opportunities to a wide range of people, including school groups, university students and families.

We operate for the benefit of the community and to encourage people to engage with the land and to develop relationships with each other through meaningful and rewarding activity.

At the heart of our approach is an immersive residential experience involving the development of relationships with the land, with work and with ourselves.

A Winter Gathering This December

1st-5th June & 9th-14th August

winter solstice (1).jpg

We invite you to come and spend a pre-solstice, pre-christmas afternoon with us.

The intention is for a quiet, gentle and contemplative gathering.

Together we will harvest greenery and beauty from the land, and then indoors, create a spiral.

One at a time, or with our children, we will journey with an unlit candle to the centre where we will light it and on the return, offer it up somewhere in the spiral, bringing light into this darkest time of the year.

Witnessing each other and sharing the silence, we will co-create a beautiful and simple ceremony.

Please arrive at 2pm

Please also bring some mince pies or something tasty and seasonal to share afterwards when we will provide mulled cider and hot drinks.

We will aim to complete by 7pm.

This is a FREE event but small cash donations to our community defibrillator fund on the day or online would be very welcome.

Please come with good outdoor clothing as well as warm indoor layers and slippers (maybe even a blanket).

Torches will also be useful.

Please register by following the link below, as places are limited.

1st - 6th August

“I would recommend time on the farm to anyone. It brings a fresh view of the world and the possibilities of change, particularly around the effects our choices have on the environment we live in.”

(Year 11 pupil).

With thanks to our Funders...
