Where does your Pizza come from?

The On The Hill pizza challenge will take you through all the stages needed to bring your pizza to your plate!

From learning to make a fire, to splitting the wood to feed the fire to making the pizza dough, harvesting the pizza toppings and learning how to manage a wood fired pizza oven.

Farm Activities

There are always a variety of farm activities which bring a group together, and leave you with a healthy dose of satisfaction! from bringing in the hay to the big potato harvest, wild berry picking and wood processing.

Cooking over the fire

Each HAF session will include making hot food, and what better way than cooking it over the fire - from learning fire making skills to getting creative with seasonal pancake mixes and fragrant curries and flatbreads. It's amazing the dishes that can come together over fire!

Big Garden Adventures

Would you like to understand better where your food comes from, and make a contribution to the garden that feeds us all? 

On a big garden adventure we will discover the wild and grown food readily available on the land, and the more tropical treats growing in our polytunnel! ever wondered what a passion fruit straight off the vine tatses like? or a vitamin c bomb that is the mighty kumquat lemon?

Building projects

Would you like the opportunity to learn some real life skills and  get stuck into a build project?

Ever wondered how to build something out of cob, fancy picking up some carpentry skills or lay a wall? 

We offer the chance for meaningful activity with our build projects on the farm.

Learn new skills

You could make a bench from scratch or learn to fix a garden tool in the repair workshop.

You will learn crafting skills through being introduced to the natural materials of wood, clay, willow and wool (from the flock of shetland sheep on the farm)
