We are committed to making this land available for educational, social and therapeutic purposes as well as exploring ways of farming that are appropriate for the needs of a collapsing climate. Converting some of our pasture land to woodland is part of this as well as extending our vegetable production, planting fruit and nut trees, looking at the possibilities of biomass crops and crops for fibre and engaging in the ongoing discussion about the role of grazing animals.
Come and help us on one of our volunteer events.
Community Build Weeks
16th - 21st May & 13th - 18th June
Our very large cowshed is slowly becoming the posh barn that we have dreamed of. A barn where groups can work and play with crafts, games, singing and many other workshop activities throughout the year.
The end barn has now got really beautiful cob walls, each layer built by the school groups that have attended over the last 3 years, and many layers containing a time capsule with hundreds of messages to the future.
We are offering these community build weeks to people who would like to come and help to take this beautiful barn to the next stage.
So come and join us in the beautiful Teign Valley where you are welcome to stay on our campsite overlooking the green rolling hills. Enjoy organic seasonal veg from our abundant garden, as we cook together in our outdoor wood fired kitchen, in another cosy converted barn. You will be part of a small community of people who are involved here working with On The Hill, Teign Greens, and Oxen Park farm.
To let us know you are coming or to find out more
Looking forward to seeing you at the farm!
Continuous Volunteer Opportunities
There is plenty to do on the farm at all times of year, and we welcome volunteers to help us with work such as tree planting, mulching, pruning, harvesting and building. As well as getting stuck in with seasonal tasks, we will share a delicious lunch, meet new people, engage in rich conversation.
These events are always great fun, and a brilliant way for new people to come and find out a bit more about what On The Hill is all about. Please get in touch to find out more and to let us know if you would like to attend, so that we can prepare enough lunch.
We look forward to welcoming you.
Suitable for people of all ages.
